We are a museum for dike, village and brick on the lower Lower Rhine. With us you will learn more about:
– regional course of the Rhine – history of flood protection – village life in

Charlemagne was already very close here around 800 … all in a lot of space with various exhibition buildings around a courtyard. The museum is located in Bislich, a district of the Hanseatic City of Wesel. Discover us! 

ATTENTION! Special guided tours to our exhibition VOM GEGENÜBER: Die Römer & ihr Limes – Bislich im Spannungsfeld der anderen Rheinseite: THURSDAY 19.08. at 5.30 p.m., TUESDAY 14. September 17.30 h, SATURDAY 18.09. 2.00 pm!  Pre-registration and completion of a contact data tracking sheet required – Guided tours are free of charge, but we ask for donations. Please register in advance using the museum's answering machine. Remaining places will be allocated on site (total participants per tour maximum 10 people)

We have reopened. Our opening hours this year (2021) are slightly limited due to the corona pandemic measures to:
Saturdays 14.00-17.00
Sundays 14.00-17.00

Requirements currently: no test proof obligation and also no deadline obligation! However, masks are now mandatory again in our museum buildings. Please observe the distance and hygiene rules for our and your safety. Group visits no problem. For the interior areas, there are guidelines for maximum number of people, but our museum and our various exhibition areas offer plenty of space to distribute. We are currently opening on a donation basis (i.e. You do not pay admission – but we ask for donations).

The special exhibition is still running! Under the title: VOM GEGENÜBER: Die Römer & ihr Limes – Bislich im Spannungsfeld der anderen Rheinseite we present you some recent findings on Roman times in the Bislich area.

In connection with our special exhibition on recent research on Roman times in Bislich, the following special tours (duration approx. 30min) instead of: THURSDAY 19.08. at 5.30 p.m., TUESDAY 14. September 17.30 h, SATURDAY 18.09. 2.00 pm, THURSDAY 23.09. 5.00 pm. Maximum number of participants 10 people. Completion of a contact tracing sheet required – Guided tours are free of charge, but we ask for donations. Please register in advance using the museum's answering machine. Remaining places will be allocated on site. All participants in the guided tours must fill out a contact data sheet for tracking within the framework of the corona protection regulations, masks are mandatory in the museum – we look forward to seeing you! In the museum we offer themed coloring pages for children. Just drop by.
